About Us

Bugle Horn Autism is an organization designed to elevate, encourage and inspire parents and caregivers on their journey in raising their intellectually disabled child. We have monthly meetings where professionals present topics on all aspects of autism. Our parents exchange information at those meetings and they have access to highly recommended doctors, therapists, legal professionals and schools, information on recreational outings and activities for our children and adults is shared as well. Additionally the families have access to renowned research institutions which focuses on the intellectual disabled, and provides cutting edge resources. While we are learning about supporting our loved ones, we are also learning about self care strategies as caregivers.
About Our Executive Director and Founder
Florence Bracy has a passion for supporting the “voiceless children”. She has been advocating for her son who has autism and is now 33 years old. This advocacy propelled her to fight, advocate and create a community for other families with children who have special needs. Her unyielding commitment to this cause for all children with “no voice” has led to those being heard.
Ms. Bracy has led many workshops for parents and professionals on navigating the world of special needs; working with teachers and connecting with community organizations.
She facilitates Bugle Horn Autism for families and caregivers of people with autism in the Los Angeles area. Her platform is virtual so she has reached parents in multiple states and Canada as well.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from California State University at Los Angeles and is certified in Special Needs Advocacy.
Ms. Bracy currently serves as member of the Interagency Coordinating Council on Early Intervention, a California state-wide group which advises on policy for the developmentally disabled. She is also a member of the Autism Community Workgroup, a collaboration with the universities, regional centers and community organizations all dedicated to the research of autism and the underlying disparities of delivering services.
She has received Congressional Commendations from the city and county of Los Angeles and state of California for her work in the community.
